Knighting Ceremony (Investiture)
The bi-annual Investiture ceremony formally welcomes approved applicants (Postulants) into the Order. During this sacred Convent and Investiture (C&I) ceremony, Postulants receive the accolade (dubbing) and become Knights or Dames. This knighting is performed by the Grand Prior or their assigned Grand Officer, and by virtue of our Royal Patron, is an actual knighting. The C&I also serves as a solemn re-dedication and spiritual renewal for the Knights and Dames attending, as well as a confirmation of our heartfelt commitment, marking your official entry into the Priory of St. Matthew and the Order.
